Set your 4 bench players in priority order (1st sub → 4th sub) before each GW deadline. The order determines which bench player comes on first if a starter doesn't play.
Auto-subs are processed after the round ends. If a starter plays 0 minutes (DNP), the highest-priority bench player who DID play replaces them — provided the resulting formation is valid (min 1 GK, 3 DEF, 3 MID, 1 FWD).
A GK can only be auto-subbed by another GK. If your starting GK doesn't play and your bench GK did, the swap happens automatically. For manual subs, a GK can only be swapped with the bench GK before either has kicked off.
You can freely swap any unlocked starter (match not started) with an unlocked bench player at any time — rearrange your lineup as often as you like before kickoff.
Once a starter's match is completed, you can replace them with a bench player whose match hasn't started yet. The completed player moves to bench and can't return to the starting XI.
A player whose match is currently in progress is locked — they cannot be swapped or substituted until their match finishes.
If you make any manual substitution or captain change during a live round, auto-subs are disabled for that entire round. Make no changes to let auto-subs handle DNPs for you.
If your captain plays 0 minutes, your vice-captain receives 2× points automatically. This applies regardless of whether auto-subs are active.
Special one-time abilities to deploy strategically
Unlimited free transfers for one Gameweek. You get 1 Wildcard for the entire tournament. Note: GW1 (Pre-tournament) and GW4 (Round of 32) already have unlimited transfers — save your Wildcard for other rounds.
Your captain scores 3× points instead of 2× for one Gameweek. Use on a fixture where your captain is likely to dominate — semi-finals and final are popular choices.
All 15 squad members earn points this Gameweek, not just your starting XI. Best used when many of your bench players have favorable fixtures.
